AH yes....Its time to admitt everything I have done over the past week..... How do we get to this day again so fast every week??? I reallly need 4 extra hours per day-- 2 for sleeping and 2 for doing what I need to do...
Now then-- I did NOT wait till midnight to go grocery shopping so that I could not only avoid the crazy Christmas people but also so that I could have 45 minutes of silence. And I most certainly did not buy Teagan hotdogs so that I could have easy lunches for him....NOPE-- I always cook him 1000% healthy meals.
Teagan and I did NOT battle over him not wanting to eat chicken one day and it most certainly did NOT end once I figured out he wanted a fork. I would NEVER have a food battle with my child- He always eats what I put in front of him.
On Christmas Eve I did not keep moving Teagan closer and closer to Sanat with hopes Id get a screaming picutre....nope....Id never do that to my child *Editors Note*-- while I DID try to get a screaming picture-- I didnt have the heart to FORCE Santa on him-- sooo alas-- no screaming pic*
On the days following Christmas I did not get so fed up with the fact he was ignoring all the cool toys I bought him and hide one of the ones someone else gave him....Nope....Id never do that. He can play with whatever he wants!
AND last-- As I am typing this Teagan is most certainly NOT sitting in his highchair eating cheerios and saying,"I ALL DONE MAMA".....Im not ignoring that in hopes I can finish.....

NOT ME MONDAY-- And Taming The Beast
So I guess its Mondy again... How do these suckers keep sneaking up on me???
I did not go out this week and spend even more money on my darling son for Christmas knowing full well he will be spoiled by grandparents, aunts uncles, and more. I would NEVER fill my house with MORE toys then an 18 month will know what to do with....
I did not spend any time this week in my sweatpants doing NOTHING... and I did not turn 26..... Im not even close to that old.....
Taming The Beast
OKay so recenetly someone asked me with everything else I have taught my son to do (wipe his face, hands and high chair tray as an example) why havent I taught him to change his clothes?? Well let me explain...to me independance is a great and wonderful things-- but so is controling my eviornment to avoid an anxiety attack.....
Lets just examine this-- So you teach your 18 month old to take off his pants (the easiest article to take off)-- And hes so proud of himself that one morning when you are just a tad to tired to BOUNCE out of bed at the first PEEP your darling little one makes-- he decides (after throwing everything out of his bed-- running up and down the length of the crib AND of course-- trying to take the sheets off as well) to take "matters in to his own hands" and to "help mommy"-- soo off come the pants--- normally this is a silent time followed by some baby yammer as he works out where to toss them.... THEN theres the diaper-- which lets be honest-- HE WILL TAKE OFF---- NOW at this point-- his pants are on the lamp---his passie is in Africa (get it-- he tossed it that far) and his comfort item (a lovie in our hosue) is smoethering his stuffed monkey-- soo whats left to do but play in the poo....
Now I dont know about anyone else but dirty diapers are NOT the highlight of my day-- not even slightly. So the idea of having to clean its contents off not only Teag's bum--- but also his hands, face, crib, walls--- Sounds like complete and utter miserableville.....
SOOOOO to everyone asking why I am not encouraging things like him undressing himself or really pushing the spoon and the fork-- its because I do not want to meet you in an aisle at target one day and absoluty lose it on you because I have already cleaned up a poo mess that day--- So yes-- my 18 month old relies on me 100% to dress him-- and maybe yours helps-- But you my dear may very well have a poopy art show one day-- and I am doing my best to never have that--
So see-- controling my enviornment isnt so silly....

NOT ME MONDAY!!
Well another Monday has arrived and once again I am racking my brain for things to add to my "Not Me Monday".... It's been a slow week because Teag has been sick and now both mom and dad have it too!
SOOOO
I most certainly did NOT feed Teagan pancakes and raisins for lunch because we had nothing else to eat.. I NEVER put off the grocery store so that I can sit at home.... NEVER..... I mean who would do that??
Teagan has NOT spent the better part of the past 4 days in his PJs... NOPE I get him dressed every morning as soon as he gets up-- regardless of his health....
There is not a huge pile of laundry in my room... Ive only worked two days in the past week so of course my laundry is completely caught up and I am not wearing PJs everyday all day untill I happen to leave the house... NOPE not me...
On a "not-not me monday" note:
Teagan is doing so good with this cold. He is heading towards VERY cranky but still playful- so not much more I can ask for. I am getting concerned he may have an ear infection regardless of the tubes but we will see how that plays out.
Teagans vocabulary is EXPLODING. He has started to say a lot and to try to copy everything we say-- so that means-- its time to really start to watch out language so our son is walking around saying curse words!

NOT ME MONDAY!!!
I havent done of these in several weeks because for several weeks I have been a PERFECT parent... hehehe not at all...
While on vacation I most certainly did NOT sneak bites of cookies to nephew and my son over and over. Id never do that!!! He doesnt get cookies at home so I would NEVER give him cookies on vacation...
On the plane I did NOT let him sit in the middle seat on his own and read my book... I did NOT leave my husband to tend to him and just enjoy my last 3 hours of time before we got home....
I did not wait till we were on the way to a birthday party to get a gift bag and a card. I am always planning ahead and have those things ready....

Where Did The First 10 Months Of 2009 Go???
Well its November 2 and I am looking behind me wondering where in the world the first 10 months of 2009 went.... All I can see is a blur of sitting up, rolling, crawling, diapers, and trips...... It has been an interesting year and as 2009 starts to wind down Im getting worried that all of the years to come are going to just as quickly and just as much of a blur of moments that really stick out and moments that have melded together....

Who Needs Teeth?
I am really tired of having a teething 16 mont old.... I dont want to trade him in but I do want to trade in the teething process..... Its painful-- Im tired of drool all over me and all over him... Im tired of him crying becuase it hurts.... and really-- who needs teeth? He can live on mushed up stuff...Im all for no teeth at this point.... hehehe-- KIDDING-- sorta...

25 Minutes Of Crazy
Okay- I swore I wasnt going to blog about this-- BUT it's funny so blog I must...
Last night Teagan and I were Skyping with Aunt Jackie (hubbys sister) and Rylan (our nephew)-- Teagan wacked the computer and somehow put it to sleep-- As I was attempting to "wake it up"- Teagan threw up on the carpet and started palying in it-- I get the computer awake and end the Skype so I can clean Teag up---
While cleaning him up he puked down my back-- SO we went in to the bathroom so I could change my shirt and brush his teeth-- After I did that I was going to the bathroom and he shoved a toy in the toilet---- SOOO while i was fishing the pee covered toy out of the toilet-- He puked AGAIN--
SOOO then Im cleaning up that puke and he grabs the pee covered toy and throws it at me--
All of this happened in a 25 minutes time span....
Needless to say-- He went to bed....

I most certainly did NOT feed Teagan McDonalds one day simply because I wasnt feeling up to making him anything else and I most certainly did NOT get him french fries instead of apples so I didnt even have to cut anything up.
I have NOT been getting Teagan up everynight out of his bed- asleep- so I can cuddle him before I go to bed. I would NEVER risk waking my sleeping child for my own selfish reasons.
I did NOT give Teagan a paper towel to tear up so he'd be entertained. Who would do that? Who would WANT to clean it up?
And last but not least-- I most certainly did NOT let Teagan spend the whole day in his PJs untill right before I dropped him off at my inlaws. and I most certainly did NOT change him just so that they wouldnt know we are lazy and spend all day Saturday/Sunday in our PJs when we can....

Goldfish and Target
Last night-- After Teagan finished his dinner I gave him some of his favorite snack-- Colored Goldfish Crackers--- Normally he eats them all up and squeals along the way because he likes them so much-- well last night he decided to chew them up and then take the chewed up mess out of his mouth and smear it in his hair--- A bath was needed!!!
THEN today- I changed his diaper and took him to Target to get a wedding present and a wedding shower present for this weekend--- and he pooped as soon as we got to Target--- What is it about Target that brings the poop out in this kid? He ALWAYS poops there....

NOT ME MONDAY!!!
Not Me Monday-- is a fun thing that MckMama started (http://www.mycharmingkids.net/)-- In which we brag about things that we did NOT do-- that we in fact DID do... So here goes..
I most certainly did NOT let Teagan stay in his jammies all day because I was to lazy to change him or deal with the extra laundry-- NOPE not me!!! And I most certainly did NOT let him eat his snack off the floor... again....
And on Saturday night I most certainly did NOT get my sleeping child out of his bed so that he could come and snuggle with me in my bed.... and I most CETAINLY did not let my son walk around the pumpkin patch carrying a small pumpkin and then let him attempt to pick up a pumpkin that was far too large for him-- NOPE not me!!!

Baby Jail.... And Baby Express...
T is non stop getting his legs stuck in the rails of his crib..... and then he SCREAMS because it hurts... SOO I have decided to invest in baby jail.... its basically a mesh tent that will go over his whole crib so he cant get his chunky thighs through there anymore!!
It is looking like on Friday I will finally get to go and snuggle Liam!!! I have been DYING to go and see him again and there hasn't been a good time-- but the plan is for the whole fam to go to David and Adrienne's house on Friday night-- I will take pics and post them!!! T loves babies!!
Today is the BABY DAY!!!!! Lucy arrived at 7:30 am-- A friends niece arrived at 3:22 am-- and we are anxiously awaiting news that Knightly and Lucas have arrived (Lucas and Knightly are expected ANY TIME-- both moms are in labor)

Water Babe
Teagan loves to swim.... Take a bath....Splash in water..... If it involves water... Teagan loves it.
This picture was taken on the day that we were celebrating my MILs birthday. Teagan had so much splashing and playing in the pool with all of his cousins on Jamie's side of the family.... we were missing one very important cousin... RYLAN!!!

June 16, 2008- Teagan arrives at 9:22 am-- Forever changing our lives.
June 20, 2008- We come home from the hospital
June 30, 2009- Rylan Carter Davis arrives!! (Teagans cousin-- 2 weeks to the day younger)
July 2- Daddy turned 24 and has his first birthday as a dad!
August 20th-- Mommy goes back to work for the first day.
October 16-- Teagan and Rylan FINALLY meet
October 31- Teagans First Halloween-- He is a giraffe.
November 13- Abbie turns 9
November 14- Claire arrives!!! (Teagans cousin)
November 25thish- First Thanksgiving!
December 15th- Mommy turns 25-- and has her first birthday as a mom.
December 20- Rylan and Family arrive for christmas!!!

Accepting Things.....
I called today to sign Teagan up for Parents as Teachers-- Im only about a year behind but hey better late then never!!
I also have realized today that there are some things I cant control and there are some people I cant help... This has been a very painful thing to come to terms with for me-- but with it has come the idea that I need to set more limits for myself and I need to learn to tell people no.... I dont have to help everyone...
On a much brighter note: Teagan is quickly approaching 15 months old-- and with that will come another doctors appt. He is walking pretty solid now and starting to run... He likes to escape past the bloackade I put up to keep him in the living room and then RUN-- but he cant out run me yet!! (My walk is faster then his run....)
He's also started too tell me what a duck and and a dog say. He can show me my eyes, nose, mouth, and ears-- and his nose and mouth. He can ask for his cup and he can tell me he wants more....

Starting Something New
So I decided that I need to start blogging-- Not only about Teagan-- but just about life in general-- Maybe I'll rant-- maybe I'll rave.... But either way I need to do something that lets people read about what is going on with us and our family.
We just got back from a week in NC with Jamie's family-- We go every other summer and have a reunion with the Allem bunch. We had a great week and lots of fun playing with the family!
Now that we are home though-- I feel like I can take a week to breathe and enjoy the summer and then its on to get ready for the school year to start-- Ive been hoping that I will find a job for next school year but its looking like I will be subbing again. This has its upsides-- like the fact that I will be able to spend a lot of time with Teagan still-- which of course makes me happy-- but it means having another baby is being pushed back..... Id like to teach for 2 years THEN have another one. But we'll see!
